Lane Arts Council hosted the second annual conference focused on arts integration in K-12 education. The 2018 theme "Empowering Student Voice" explored how arts integrated learning opens doors for all students to participate, engage and grow. The Northwest Arts Integration Conference is inspired by work on the ArtCore program, in partnership with Inflexion and five Lane County middle schools.
WINTER institute

Current educators at Artcore schools discovered how art and creativity could enrich their classrooms, and investigated potential ways of sustaining arts integration within their schools. The creative energy of the 38 teachers who attended ArtCore’s Winter Institute has become new fuel for integrated learning at each of the five schools.
Summer institute

University of Oregon College of Education, HEDCO education Building
This four-day institute intensive invited teachers to dive deeper into arts integrated learning and design, and plan instruction for the 2017–2018 school year. Teachers explored arts integration methods and strategies through enriching presentations, group discussions and reflections, short "Shallow Dive" workshops, and immersive multi-day "Deep Dive" sessions. Winter Institute

SPROUT FOOD HUB (SPRINGFIELD or)
This ArtCore institute focused on formative assessments that encourage the creative production of the learner. The day provided an experiential, participatory learning lab where feedback, seeking peer advice, participation, and self evaluation were explored. Using ArtCore's three creative learning strategies, teachers left with creative ideas for formative assessment during the creative production of their arts integrated lessons. In April 2017, Lane Arts Council hosted its inaugural professional development conference on arts integration in secondary education. The Arts Integration Conference for Educators is inspired by the ArtCore program. The conference shares the knowledge gained through ArtCore, and its practical, hands-on arts integration applications to a wider, statewide audience. View the 2017 conference program.

This three-day institute built on the wisdom of Art Costa through immersion into the habits of mind and the opportunities in arts integration to make instruction habit-forming.
